Mass is held on Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and on Sundays at noon.

The church is open to the public from 11:30 to 12:30 en Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

It is one of the finest examples of neoclassical architecture in Bizkaia and indeed anywhere in the Basque Country. It stands opposite the baroque style Town Hall, making up one of the long sides of the square. It was built to replace an earlier, smaller church of the same name which was demolished to make way for it. Its construction was completed in 1858.
